Pakistan Bowler Haris Rauf Fined 20% for ICC Code of Conduct Breach
Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf has been reprimanded and fined 20 per cent of his match fee for breaching the International Cricket Council (ICC) Code of Conduct during the ODI tri-series match against England in Lahore.
The ICC confirmed the disciplinary action on October 28, 2026, following an incident during Pakistan’s one-wicket victory over England on Sunday. Rauf was found guilty of a Level 1 offence relating to conduct contrary to the spirit of the game.

Haris Rauf Penalised Following On-Field Incident
The incident took place at the end of the 46th over of Pakistan’s innings. Rauf, who was standing at the non-striker’s end, appealed for a wide delivery before becoming involved in an argument with England all-rounder Will Jacks.
According to the ICC, Rauf raised his bat and continued the exchange despite a warning from umpire Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid. He subsequently brushed past the umpire while walking towards Jacks.
The incident resulted in a breach of Article 2.2 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which covers conduct contrary to the spirit of the game.
Alongside the 20 per cent fine, Rauf received one additional demerit point on his disciplinary record. It was his third offence within a 24-month period, taking his total to five demerit points.

England Also Fined for Slow Over-Rate
England were also penalised following the match after the team was found to be three overs short of its required over-rate, once time allowances had been taken into account.
The visitors were fined 15 per cent of their players’ match fees under Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which addresses minimum over-rate offences.
Under the relevant regulations, players are fined five per cent of their match fees for every over their team fails to bowl within the allotted time.
Both Haris Rauf and England captain Harry Brook admitted their respective offences and accepted the sanctions proposed by match referee Jeff Crowe of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees. Consequently, no formal hearings were required.
Pakistan Beat England in a Dramatic ODI
The disciplinary action followed a thrilling contest in which Pakistan secured a one-wicket victory over England.
Chasing England’s total, Pakistan found themselves under considerable pressure before Shadab Khan produced a remarkable unbeaten century. He then shared an unbroken 89-run partnership for the final wicket with Haris Rauf to guide Pakistan to victory with 17 balls remaining.
The result secured Pakistan’s place in the ODI tri-series final, where they are scheduled to face Sri Lanka on October 31.
What the ICC Penalty Means for Haris Rauf
The latest sanction increases Rauf’s demerit-point tally to five within the relevant 24-month period. Under ICC regulations, accumulating four or more demerit points within this period can result in the conversion of those points into suspension points.
The development adds another disciplinary setback for the Pakistan fast bowler, who will be looking to focus on his performances as Pakistan prepare for the upcoming final.
Meanwhile, England’s slow-over-rate penalty highlights the importance of maintaining the required bowling pace throughout international matches.
Both incidents underline the ICC’s continued enforcement of its Code of Conduct, with players and teams expected to uphold the standards of behaviour and professionalism required in international cricket.
