Apple has begun restoring Apple Store pickup reservations for the highly anticipated iPhone Duo, giving customers another opportunity to get their hands on the company’s first foldable iPhone. However, availability remains extremely limited, with many Apple Store locations showing little or no inventory.

The pickup reservation system initially appeared when iPhone Duo pre-orders opened on October 16, but the option disappeared shortly afterward. Apple has now started bringing it back across multiple markets as the device officially reaches customers worldwide.

iPhone Duo Pickup Reservations Return Worldwide

According to MacRumors, Apple Store pickup reservations began returning on October 23 in markets including Australia, China, Japan, and South Korea. On October 24, the reservation system also resumed in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Singapore, and several other countries.

Despite the return of the pickup option, securing a device remains difficult. MacRumors previously found only one iPhone Duo unit available for pickup in Australia during its availability check, and that unit was no longer available by the time its report was published.

The situation highlights the strong demand for Apple’s first foldable smartphone and the limited inventory available during its initial release.

High Demand Pushes Delivery Estimates Into January

Demand for the iPhone Duo has been exceptionally strong since pre-orders opened on October 16. Apple described customer demand as “nothing short of extraordinary” and said it was working to fulfill orders as quickly as possible.

Online delivery estimates moved into late January shortly after pre-orders began, leaving customers who missed the initial ordering window facing a potentially lengthy wait.

For buyers who have not yet secured a device, Apple Store pickup could offer an alternative to waiting for a standard online delivery. However, availability depends on the selected model, color, storage configuration, and individual store inventory.
